Swedish Radio Interviewed Me About Trump Victory
I was asked to do a radio interview in Sweden about the US election on Wednesday morning. Remember, Sweden is one of the most secular nations on the planet. The two names that can most certainly make a Swede cringe are the names “Jesus Christ” and “Donald Trump”.
So I was looking forward to saying both in that particular public conversation. I’ve found that being uncomfortable is quite beneficial for people. So I’m a fan of it.
Of course I accepted the offer.
I was sitting in the radio station parking lot at 8 am in Skövde when the news came through that Donald Trump had won. (It was 2 am EST for reference)
Walking in for the interview that morning, I chose that what I was going to talk about was my vote for religious freedom and what the church has the capacity to do to a society when the church is healthy. (Which I believe it has generally not been for a long time.) And how the US Constitution, allowed that freedom to exist. As the church steps up, “ultimately that can allow America to become a light to the rest of the world again rather than a side show.”
